Terms and conditions
What Bellpull is and is not
Bellpull is an alert service. When the person you look after holds their button, Bellpull texts, pushes to and phones the responders you chose, in the order and at the times you set, until one of them responds. It then tells the others who is responding.
- It is not an emergency service. Bellpull never calls 999 or any emergency service. If someone needs one, a person has to call it.
- It has no call centre. Nobody at Weftworks answers alerts. Your responders do.
- It is not a medical device or a healthcare service. It does not monitor, diagnose or treat anything, and it holds no health information.
- It cannot promise to reach someone every time. It depends on power, the home's internet connection, mobile networks, phones being on and responders being able to act. Please keep at least two responders and run a test each week.
This agreement
These terms are between you, the account holder, and Weftworks Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17439248, registered office 2 Ravenscroft Gardens, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 7JU), which runs Bellpull. You must be 18 or over and live in the UK to open an account. These terms are for people buying for themselves or their family, not for businesses.
The agreement starts when we confirm your order by email.
Your account
Keep your sign-in to yourself and tell us at once if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for what is set up in your account: the people, their responders, the order, the timings and the access notes.
The people you add
The person being looked after
When you add someone, you confirm that they agreed to carry the button and to their details being used to alert their responders, or that you have the legal authority to decide this for them. Give them the card in the kit, which explains what Bellpull holds about them.
Responders
Responders join by accepting an invitation. We will not call or text anyone until they have accepted. Responders can leave at any time, and we will tell you if one does. You should make sure each responder knows what is expected of them and how to get in, for example where the key safe is.
No health information
Do not put health information in Bellpull, including in the access notes. Access notes are for practical things such as which door to use, the key safe, or a pet. We may remove anything that goes beyond that.
Keeping it working
- Keep the hub plugged in to power and connected to your router.
- Run a test (a double press) at least once a week. We will remind you.
- Replace the button battery when we tell you it is low.
- Keep your responders' numbers up to date, and make sure the app on their phones is allowed to sound in silent mode.
We will tell you by email and in the app if the hub stops checking in, a button battery is low, or a responder's phone is not ready. We cannot fix your internet connection, power or phone settings.
The kit
The kit contains a Flic Hub LR, one or more Flic 2 buttons, a wrist strap or clip-on holder, and an Ethernet cable. The button and hub are made by Flic (Shortcut Labs AB, Sweden), are CE marked, and come to you already set up for your account.
The kit becomes yours when you have paid for it. We deliver to UK addresses. If it arrives damaged or does not work, tell us and we will repair or replace it. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply: you can reject faulty goods within 30 days for a refund, and after that you are entitled to a repair or replacement.
If you add the kit to another Flic account or change its settings in the Flic app, Bellpull may stop working. We may ask you to send it back to us to set it up again.
Recycling
When the kit reaches the end of its life, do not put it in household waste. We will take back your old kit free of charge when you buy a replacement from us. Remove the button's coin cell battery and recycle it at a battery collection point.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown on bellpull.app. Weftworks is not registered for VAT at present, so no VAT is added. The kit is a one-off payment. The service is a subscription for each person being looked after, paid monthly or yearly by card or Direct Debit through Stripe.
We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email of any price change. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
If a payment fails, we will tell you by email and text and keep the service running for 30 days while you sort it out. We will never stop an alert that is already in progress because of a missed payment.
Cancelling
Changing your mind
You can cancel within 14 days of receiving the kit and get a full refund, as long as you return the kit. We pay for the return postage. If you asked us to start the service during those 14 days and then cancel, we refund the service fee less the days you used.
After that
There is no minimum term. You can cancel the subscription at any time in your account. A monthly subscription ends at the end of the month you have paid for. A yearly subscription ends at the end of the year, and we refund the whole months remaining. The kit is yours to keep.
Fair use
Each alert costs us real money in calls and texts. Bellpull is for alerts and tests by the people in your account. To protect against a faulty button or misuse, a button cannot start a new alert within a minute of the last one, and we may set a fair monthly limit on the number of alerts. We will contact you before any limit is reached. Do not use Bellpull to harass anyone or to contact people who have not agreed.
Routine alerts
When routine alerts become available, they will be optional and will have their own short terms, which you will see before switching them on. They will only be switched on with the agreement of the person being looked after, or, if they cannot decide, by someone with the authority to decide for them. The button service never depends on agreeing.
Routine alerts tell responders when activity at home is later or quieter than usual. They do not detect emergencies and are not a reason to rely on the button less.
Our responsibility to you
We will provide Bellpull with reasonable care and skill, and as described on bellpull.app. If we do not, tell us and we will try to put it right.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Otherwise, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss caused by things outside our reasonable control, including power cuts, failures of your internet connection, mobile networks or phones, responders who do not respond, or settings you or a responder changed.
Because Bellpull is a family alert service at a low price and not a staffed or emergency service, our total liability to you for loss that we are allowed to limit is the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Ending the service
We may suspend or end your account if you seriously break these terms, for example by using Bellpull to harass someone, and we will tell you why. If we ever stop running Bellpull, we will give you at least 90 days' notice and refund any service you have paid for and not used.
When your account closes, we delete your information as set out in our privacy policy.
General
- We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel if you do not agree.
- We may transfer this agreement to another company that takes over Bellpull. Your rights will not be reduced.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring proceedings there, and your local consumer law protections still apply.
- If you have a complaint, email hello@bellpull.app. We aim to reply within two working days.
